WoodworkHer Designs: Covering the Community in Custom Art

When the local bowling location re-branded as a Family Entertainment Center called Tenn Pin Alley, they not only updated the location with new games and attractions, but they also wanted to show off their new name and look. When the choice was made to install a massive mural, they knew that it needed to be something special. To do such special piece, they went with local artist Tiffany Turkette of WoodworkHer Designs. Since doing this mural, WoodworkHer Designs has grown tremendously. Their work can now be seen across middle Tennessee from paintings in Columbia and Nashville to numerous custom designed wood and string art pieces.

“I’ve always been a crafty person” says Turkette. “So I went on Pinterest and found string art. I hadn’t ever seen anyone do it locally.   So, I dove in… This was around March 2018 when I really started getting orders. By August I had added vinyl decals to my offerings  and once I got my order for a stove cover, things really took off.  I was making 15 at a time.  I probably have made at least 300 by now.  Each day it seemed someone was asking me if I could make something they saw on Pinterest.  I’m a wing it type person and can figure almost anything out. Now my business is even more diversified.  I make something different every week.  Just really whatever people throw at me.”

Turkette built her company right here in Maury County. While most of her client base has been local, her work is starting to spread. A primarily self-taught artists, Turkette has been able to create a style all her own by way of constantly challenging herself to widen the scope of her skills. While Facebook and Instagram pages show off a wide variety of previous designs, WoodworkHer Designs can tackle practically any custom art piece you may have in mind.

“My motto ‘If you don’t see it just ask”’ said Turkette. “It’s easy to think by quick scrolling on my Instagram I don’t make a certain type of project because sometimes I go a month or more without making it again.  There is really no way to even organize it because it’s different every week.  Any type of home decor, woodwork, murals, projects…. If I can’t do it, I have a connection that can”

As WoodworkHer continues to grow in popularity, Turkette is always adding new options and ways for her clients to get unique, custom work.

“I have some ideas for a personal collection” said Turkette. “I want to paint and to sell originals for people that do value art and then prints for people that want it but at a cheaper price point.”

With the holidays coming up, be sure to contact WoodworkHer Designs today to get your custom designed work from a terrific local artist.
